We are living in the last days which is the time period between the two comings of the Lord Jesus. Some periods in the last days will be worse than others. There will be seasons of special stress and seasons of relative calm. In this section, Paul describes that the nature of the last days will be a noticeable increase in the love of self over against the love of God.
