Updates from the White Cross Canada Ministry Centre—September 2025

Our November shipment is just one more month away. In the last few months, we were able to meet those from various parts of Canada at the Ministry Centre as they travelled or made a White Cross delivery trip. We are also thankful to many of you who have sent valuable ministry items to the Ministry Centre.

If you are shipping boxes toward the cut-off, please help us and save yourselves some shipping/fuel cost by checking the following:

Remove anything that is not “guest quality” (needing laundry, wiping, mending) Remove medical supplies with expiry dates before November 2026 Remove liquids Remove “no longer needed” items (see the next section) Boxes are tightly packed with items from one category, clearly stated on the parcel shipping sheet

Our final workday before the shipment is October 14th - last chance to process all boxes that need sorting/repacking. Please pray for the workers and the accuracy of our work!

 “No Longer Needed” Items

We announced some new items that we are invited to collect for the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services. The capacities and needs are changing, as our brothers and sisters expand their services and adjust their practices according to various factors. As such, we have also developed a list of items we are no longer sending. Some items that were helpful in the past are no longer needed for us to send. Thank you for adjusting to the changing needs!

Prayer Points for October 2025

The prayers and joyful (and sometimes sacrificial) giving become visible in this season in the form of the stacked boxes, and we praise the Lord for many groups and individuals who have contributed to the ministry of White Cross by preparing and sending these boxes. We also thank Him for the many workers who volunteered at the Ministry Centre to process all the boxes received so far. The last White Cross workday for the November shipment on October 14. We pray that this time of love and prayer in action will bring joy to those who handle and receive these items and grow our compassion. May He also send enough workers to process all the boxes we receive before the cut-off. Prep day and loading workers. At the end of the month, we will prepare large items for loading and plan for the loading week workers. Please pray for a good team of workers to be connected with Ian, our Shipment Coordinator, as he coordinates the teams.

If you are interested in learning about the different contexts vs. Canada, and what the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services has developed current practices from, the book ‘Man No Be God: Bushdoctor’ in Cameroon by Dieter Lemke, MD, will show you how different our contexts are.  And you will also see how our universal and unchanging Lord has worked in Cameroon through many people and events. 📖 Have you read the book? Where do you see God continuing the work in White Cross? Do you see it in your area, or in your life, too? .

What do treadle sewing machines have to do with White Cross? While the contents of our containers include medical equipment and supplies for Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services, we also ship a variety of other ministry items. Treadle sewing machines are sent for vocational training classes offered by the Cameroon Baptist Convention Women's Department. As you support White Cross, you have been part of the emerging generation's life. Treadle sewing machines continue to be preferred because of their manual operation. Now, some sewing centres have better electricity than in the past, and we could send 110-220V electric sewing machines too! Please let us know if you have sewing machines that could equip young people in Cameroon!
